Lawrence Technological University’s Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC) Team competes every year against top universities from 30+ locations across the United States and abroad. The Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition is a multi-disciplinary collegiate competition where teams build an autonomous off-road vehicle to compete in navigation and design competitions. The four day competition takes place at Oakland University in early June.
Our team builds an autonomous vehicle from the ground up, capable of obstacle avoidance and lane following, by utilizing GPS waypoints, cameras, LiDAR, and other sensors in order to complete the competition course. This year’s five senior team members are using the competition to fulfill the requirements of their senior capstone project.
Donation Request:
Our objective this year is to raise $3,000 in donations. These donations provide the funds for components such as:
Drive Motors
Wheels
Microcontrollers
Build materials (mechanical/electrical)
Fabrication Costs and Benchtop Tools
This capstone project is the culmination of our undergraduate experience. Using all of the skills and knowledge we have built over the past few years, we will be putting endless hours into this project to not only come prepared to compete at competition, but to win! We need your help and support to make our aspirations for competition become reality!
We invite sponsors to come meet the team, network, and enjoy the competition. To stay updated on team progress or for more information, you can reach out to our team at 2019LTUIGVC@gmail.com.
