Support the Formula SAE Electric Team

About the Team

The Formula SAE Electric team is comprised of nineteen senior engineering students with several goals including to learn what it takes to work in a high-performance team, gain real world experience in the engineering design process and to win this year’s New Hampshire Motor Speedway competition. The team is dynamically broken out into three sub teams, Powertrain, Structural, and Vehicle Dynamics. Amongst our teams we have mechanical, electrical, and computer engineers with experience ranging from the automotive industry, Department of Defense, electric power industry, and so much more.

Over the course of 2021-2022 school year, the team has optimized the previous year's design and fabricated new chassis, steering, suspension, and carbon fiber body kit. The team now heads into their current phase of building the prototype, with a plan of completing the vehicle early enough for testing and improvement.

How you can help!

This year’s Formula SAE Electric team can achieve great results with help from private and public donors. The cost of a competition-ready Formula Electric car can cost up to $70,000, so the support from the community is important to the success of the team. Contributions will allow the team to design and build a race-ready vehicle with cutting edge technologies onboard.

Currently, the team has been able to purchase some of our high-priced parts, including the motor, motor controller, and batteries, However, we still need your support! The team still needs to purchase some important items including, new rims, and secure funding for travel expenses to this year’s competition. With your help, we will be capable of securing all of our desperately needed parts that will allow us to successfully compete at this year’s competition.

If your company would like to sponsor this year’s team, please contact team captain Kevin Stinnette at kstinnett@ltu.edu. Your decision to do so means you will be supporting one of the best learning opportunities in the country while promoting your company through the team. With your generosity, you will not only help us meet our goals, but you will also help invest in the engineering pipeline. Your investment, whether it be in the form of finances, services, or resources, is all greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration and generosity to the 2022 Formula SAE Electric Team!
