Campaign Relaunch and Design Update!

March 01, 2022
Thank you all for the generosity you've shown our team in the first round of fundraising! As the competition date gets closer, the team is working hard to design, fabricate, and document our next iteration. We're asking for your help once again to get us there. Travel expenses including lodging at the competition and gas for the drive to Fort Worth, Texas make up the remainder of our fundraising goal. For every dollar donated, you'll help us get 4 miles closer to Fort Worth and closer to seeing the results of our work in action.

As an update to the Aero Design team's design progress, we successfully completed the construction and testing of our first prototype in January. The plane generated enough lift to support its own weight and met the competition requirement of taking off within 100 feet. Our control surfaces including ailerons, elevator, and rudder were sized appropriately for a smooth flight. Though we had an equipment failure with the motor connection that cut the flight short, the team received some great information to guide our design moving forward. The team is currently hard at work fabricating the next iteration!

Thank you again to all those who have continued to support our efforts and share the fundraising campaign.

We have reached 77% of our goal!

December 22, 2021

Thanks to your benevolent donations, the Aero Design team was able to get to work on our first prototype of the new design! The costs of all necessary materials were covered by your generosity. We're very excited to complete construction in the new year and see the results of our hard work in action.

We are so grateful to have reached 77% of our fundraising goal. Please consider sharing our campaign to help push us over the top! Thank you!
